Seevon Cook-Ojo, MA

Seevon is a Clinical Intern seeing clients in our Lombard and Chicago-Lakeview offices and via telehealth.

Hello, my name is Seevon, a master’s level Clinical Intern pursuing a degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. I work with young adults, adults, as well as families and couples to help identify stressors that are contributing to anxiety, depression, communication issues, and ineffective patterns in relationships.

As a counselor I am a non-judgmental, unbiased, kind listening ear here to understand your needs. What are the goals you want to achieve that would be most beneficial to your lifestyle? I will work with you as an invited teammate, assessing stressors through a systemic lens considering all the associations that affect you.

As an African American, I understand the notion of “don’t ask, don't tell,” “sweeping things under the rug,” and being afraid to let others in. Yet, I also know the benefits of being relational and supportive of each other. There is no wrong in needing a helping hand or someone to talk to.

Therapy is not a “stigma,” it is a guiding, helpful hand willing to provide an open-minded safe space of enlightenment on this journey towards your better self. I would love to be that partner with you.
