Marci Zinke, Clinical Intern (she/her/hers)

Marci is a Clinical Intern seeing clients in the Lombard location.

Hello! I am a master’s level intern at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, completing my degree in Counseling Psychology.

One day, not too long ago, I sat in a boardroom at my executive job and wondered what so many others wonder: “why have these experiences happened to me, and what is my purpose in life?” As I began to evaluate those questions, I realized it was time to transition into living my passion for helping others. My journey through life has offered me many lived experiences that so many others also journey through in silence. It has become my mission to help others find a way to not only heal but to thrive. My approach in working with you will include collaboration, and I will encourage your active participation to work on your journey forward; it is in this therapeutic relationship building that the most effective change happens.

I am passionate about working with adolescents, women’s issues, and couples, with a particular interest in ambiguous grief/loss – grieving the loss of something still in existence. It could be the loss of a job, the change in a relationship, or a transition in life where you no longer identify with your past self – I am here to help you process. I approach sessions from a trauma-informed lens and work with clients to help define experiences to make meaning and keep moving forward.

I focus on utilizing an integrative approach tailored to your goals. As a certified EFT (tapping) facilitator, I incorporate a holistic approach to working with you and what you need. My utmost goal is to provide a safe, accepting, and supportive space to explore life's difficulties, transitions, developments, and I am devoted to providing culturally informed therapy that takes your unique cultural backgrounds, beliefs, and histories into consideration when working with you.
